Ruiniu Clothing has supported SWIX Norway's seasonal ski apparel production, covering ski jackets, insulated outerwear, and waterproof technical garments — from fabric sourcing and sample development through bulk production, quality inspection, and export delivery.
SWIX is a Norwegian winter sports brand specializing in ski equipment and technical apparel. For seasonal winter collections, maintaining consistent waterproof construction, sizing accuracy, and workmanship across repeat production was a key requirement.

The project required ski jackets that could balance three things at once: waterproof protection for snow conditions, enough insulation for cold environments, and unrestricted movement during skiing. Getting all three right in one garment is where most skiwear projects run into trouble.
During sample development, the main challenge was balancing insulation thickness with skiing mobility. A warmer jacket is not always a better ski jacket — excessive filling can restrict movement and affect wearing comfort.
Solution: Ruiniu adjusted fabric layering, insulation distribution, and seam construction during sample development, testing movement and warmth together rather than as separate problems.
Other requirements included:
Waterproof shell construction for snow exposure
Windproof laminated fabric
Reinforced stitching at stress points
Ergonomic cut for skiing mobility
Seam-sealed waterproof build
Consistent sizing across bulk runs
European export compliance
Private label branding and packaging
All revisions required SWIX sign-off before bulk production could begin.
| Item | Requirement |
| Fabric | 2L / 3L waterproof shell |
| Insulation | High-loft duck down |
| Seam sealing | Hot-air seam tape |
| Zippers | Waterproof YKK |
| MOQ | 100 pcs/style/color |
| Sample lead time | 7–15 days |
Ruiniu sourced technical materials against SWIX's performance requirements and ran them through weight testing, waterproof rating checks, breathability verification, colorfastness, and shrinkage testing before cutting began.
| Material | Function |
| Waterproof outer shell fabric | Snow and moisture protection |
| Windproof laminated fabric | Cold-weather resistance |
| High-loft duck down insulation | Warmth retention |
| Breathable inner lining | Moisture management |
| Waterproof YKK zippers | Enhanced durability |
| Reinforced seam tape | Waterproof seam protection |
Ruiniu works with approved fabric swatches and technical data sheets before bulk production to reduce material-related risks.
| 01 | Precision Cutting | Panels were cut using precision cutting equipment against approved measurements and grading. Waterproof technical fabric has little stretch tolerance, so panel alignment matters more here than on a standard jacket — a misaligned panel shows up immediately once seams are sealed.
|
| 02 | Sewing and Assembly | Reinforced stitching at the shoulders, sleeves, hood, and cuffs, with particular attention to insulation distribution and stress points. Sewing quality was checked during production to maintain consistency before final inspection.
|
| 03 | Seam Sealing | Internal seams were sealed to prevent water penetration during snow exposure and active use. Each production batch went through waterproof construction inspection before moving to finishing.
|
| 04 | Branding & Customization | Logo embroidery, reflective details, waterproof zipper systems, woven labels, rubber patches, hangtags, and export packaging — each checked against approved samples to keep branding consistent across the run.
|
| 05 | Finishing and Packing | Garments were steamed, cleaned, folded, and packed to SWIX's international shipping requirements: individual polybag protection, carton quantity control, export shipping marks, and barcode labeling.

For technical ski jackets, waterproof performance depends on more than the shell fabric itself — seam construction, zipper installation, and production accuracy all affect how the garment performs in the field. These details need to be worked through together during sampling and production preparation, not addressed one at a time after the fact.
Quality inspection covered incoming materials, production checks, measurement verification, waterproof construction inspection, and final inspection before shipment. A pre-shipment inspection report was shared with the SWIX team before delivery release.
