How 2.5-Layer Fabric Is Built
A 2.5-layer shell combines a nylon or polyester face fabric with a waterproof-breathable membrane or coating and a lightweight protective print or inner layer.
Unlike a typical 3-layer laminate, a 2.5L construction does not use a separate woven or knitted backing fabric. This helps reduce garment weight and pack volume.
Face fabric weight, texture, DWR finish and waterproof-breathable performance can be selected according to the approved product specification.
Seam Sealing & Functional Details
Seam tape is selected according to the approved shell fabric and seam construction, then applied to sewn seams where required.
Hood adjustment, cuffs, pocket layout, ventilation, zippers and drawcord systems can be developed from your tech pack or reference sample.
Waterproof and breathability targets are reviewed before fabric approval and sample development.
01 Tech Pack Review Review fabric targets, construction, sizing, trims and branding requirements.
02 Pattern & Sample Develop patterns and prepare the first sample for fit and construction review.
03 Fabric Cutting Lay and cut shell panels according to approved patterns and markers.
04 Sewing & Assembly Assemble shell panels, zippers, pockets, hood and adjustment components.
05 Seam Sealing Apply hot-air seam tape according to the approved seam-sealing specification.
06 Final Inspection Complete final inspection, needle detection and packing before shipment.

Fabric sourcing, cutting, sewing, seam sealing and final inspection are coordinated through our production team.
Development can start from a tech pack, reference sample, sketch or existing product specification.
MOQ starts from 100 pcs per style and color for custom development.

We work with lightweight waterproof shell fabrics and seam-sealed constructions for outdoor jacket programs.
Face fabric, membrane or coating, DWR finish, seam tape, zippers and trims are reviewed against the approved specification.
Waterproof and breathability targets are matched to available fabric options before sampling.

Checks are carried out from incoming fabric inspection through sewing, seam sealing and final packing.
Final inspection follows the approved quality requirements, including AQL 2.5 where specified.
Finished batches undergo needle detection before packing.
Send your tech pack, sample or reference design. We will review the 2.5-layer fabric, waterproof and breathability targets, seam sealing, trims, sizing and branding requirements before sampling.
