Shell Fabric Options
Lightweight Polyester: Lightweight polyester woven fabrics are available in different weights and hand feels for everyday outdoor, team and private label programs.
Polyester Ripstop: Ripstop constructions can be selected where additional tear resistance is required without adding unnecessary garment weight.
Mechanical Stretch: Mechanical-stretch polyester is available for styles that require greater freedom of movement without relying on high spandex content.
Finish & Lining Options
DWR Finish: Water-repellent finishes can be applied when protection from light rain and moisture is required.
PFAS-Free DWR: PFAS-free water-repellent finish options can be sourced when specified by the buyer or target market.
Lining Options: Unlined, mesh or lightweight taffeta constructions can be selected according to season, comfort and end use.
01 Tech Pack & Specification Review Fabric, measurements, fit, pockets, zippers, trims, logo placement and packing requirements are reviewed before sampling.
02 Fabric Inspection & Cutting Polyester fabric is checked for defects, direction and surface condition before approved patterns are released for cutting.
03 Sewing & Assembly Panels, pockets, zippers and other components are assembled according to the approved sample and confirmed construction.
04 Lightweight Fabric Control Needle size, thread tension and sewing handling are adjusted according to the selected fabric to reduce puckering, shifting and uneven seams.
05 Inline & Final Inspection Measurements, seam appearance, zipper function, pocket position and overall workmanship are checked during and after production.
06 Needle Detection & Packing Finished garments are packed according to the confirmed requirements. Needle detection can be arranged where required.
Buyers can provide a tech pack, reference sample or product images. Before sampling, we review the fabric, fit, pockets, zippers, trims, logo placement and other construction details.
Once the sample is approved, the confirmed sample, measurements and material specifications become the reference for bulk production.
Lightweight polyester fabrics can shift or pucker during sewing if the machine setup does not match the fabric.
During sampling and bulk production, needle size, thread, machine tension and feeding are adjusted according to fabric weight and construction.
We pay particular attention to zipper edges, pocket openings, hems and panel joins, where lightweight fabrics are more likely to show uneven sewing or distortion.
Bulk production follows the approved sample, measurement chart, BOM and confirmed material specifications.
Inline checks focus on measurements, seam appearance, panel alignment, zipper installation, pocket position and other agreed construction points.
Final inspection is completed before packing.

Answer: Not necessarily. A standard polyester windbreaker is mainly designed for wind protection and can be treated with a DWR finish for light rain. Higher waterproof performance requires suitable fabric, membrane or coating, together with the correct garment construction.
