Lightweight Shell Options
Lightweight Nylon: Suitable when low weight and compact packing are priorities. Fabric denier and finish can be selected according to the intended use.
Polyester Woven: A practical option for lightweight windbreakers where dimensional stability, color consistency and cost control are important.
Ripstop Fabric: Available when additional tear resistance is required without significantly increasing garment weight.
Finishes & Lining
PFAS-Free DWR: Available when light rain and moisture resistance are required.
Recycled Polyester: GRS-certified recycled fabric can be sourced for programs requiring verified recycled content.
Unlined or Lightweight Lining: Unlined construction keeps the jacket lighter and easier to pack, while mesh or lightweight taffeta can be added when required.
01 Tech Pack & Specification Review Measurements, construction, fabric, trims and branding requirements are reviewed before development.
02 Sample Development A development sample is made for fit, construction, material and workmanship confirmation.
03 Sample Approval & Pre-Production Approved measurements, materials, trims and construction become the reference for bulk production.
04 Cutting & Sewing Bulk fabric is cut according to approved patterns, followed by sewing and component assembly.
05 Inline & Final Inspection Measurements, seam appearance, zipper installation, pocket position and workmanship are checked during production and before packing.
06 Needle Detection & Packing Finished garments are checked and packed according to the confirmed order requirements.
Buyers can send a tech pack, reference sample or product images for development. Before sampling, we confirm fabric, construction, trims, measurements, logo method and other details that affect the finished garment.
Sample adjustments are made before bulk production so that key construction and fit details are based on an approved reference.
Lightweight fabrics can shift during cutting and sewing, making panel alignment and seam appearance more difficult to control than on heavier jackets.
Front zipper installation requires particular attention. Uneven feeding or tension can create a wavy appearance along the zipper on thin shell fabrics.
For packable designs, pocket size, zipper construction and garment volume need to be coordinated so the jacket can be packed without placing unnecessary stress on seams.
During bulk production, panel alignment, zipper installation, pocket position and elastic tension are checked against the approved sample.
Production follows the approved sample and confirmed specifications. Inline checks are used during sewing, followed by final inspection before packing.
For repeat programs, approved specifications and construction details can be referenced for subsequent orders to improve consistency between production runs.

Answer: This style is designed primarily as a lightweight wind resistant and water resistant jacket. A DWR finish can provide protection against light rain, but water resistance should not be confused with a fully seam sealed waterproof shell. If a higher waterproof level is required, the fabric and construction need to be developed accordingly.
